City of Charleston hosting several Easter egg hunts

Children in Charleston have the chance to enjoy the Easter season with several Easter egg hunts this weekend.

The city will host three egg hunts on Friday in addition to two other Easter events.

The first runs from 10 a.m. until noon at Martin Park on Jackson Street in downtown Charleston.

The second is at Johns Island Park from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

The last event is scheduled for Thomas Johnson Park on James Island from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The city is also hosting the Hop Diggity Dog Easter event from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Arthur Christopher Community Center for children six and under.

Kids can also enjoy games, jump castles, food and fun at the Spring Thing event from 4 p.m. until 6p.m at the Shaw Community Center.

For those who miss out on the Friday egg hunts, there are plenty of chances to get in on the fun Saturday.

Easter Eggstravaganza will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hampton Park. The City of Charleston's largest egg hunt is free for children 12 and under, and will include jump castles, cookie decorating, face painting and more.

Finally, the West Ashley Egg Hunt will take place at Bees Landing Recreation Center from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Be sure to bring your own basket.
