MotoDiscovery Colonial Tour - Mexico

Colonial Mexico Road Motorcycle Tour has Old European influences on our most popular Mexico Road Tour

If there is one tour to take to Old Mexico it should be The Colonial. One highlight among many is San Miguel de Allende. With over 80,000 votes cast, it was selected by Conde Nast Traveler as the Top City in the World in 2013. We’ve felt this way for a long, long time. As an enclave for American expats, you’ll experience the old world charm of San Miguel with it’s cobblestone streets, ringing church bells and lively plazas. But this is just the beginning.

Riding to San Miguel will have you experiencing one of Mexico's most noted motorcycling roads, the Sierra Gorda, beginning with the coffee plantation shrouded hills of the tropical eastern slopes of the Sierra Madres, you will climb into pine forests, then descend to the altiplano. Spectacular desert vistas are yours as you twist through great mountain curves. This so happens to also be the Ruta de Junipero Serra who in the 1700’s constructed a series of stunning and colorful missions and monasteries that would ultimately take him all the way to Southern California.

Other Colonial cities include Zacatecas and the small village of Santiago. One of the most memorable stays will be in a remote mountain mining town of Real de Catorce known to only a few and accessed only by a two KM long tunnel. Once a ghost town, Real de Catorce is slowly coming to life, unveiling its old Spanish grandeur and eegance.

As mentioned elsewhere, this Motodiscovery Mexico Road tour allows you to bring your own motorcycle. Because it is on paved roads any bike will do. Should you want a rental let us know and we will arrange it.

Contact your riding friends and make this a group event. This is the Mexico we so love and we know you will too.
