American Cornhole will be headed to Turfway Park to host the eighth annual ACO World Championships of Cornhole
The ACO World Championships of Cornhole has grown from the inaugural event of 64 participants to over 250. Purses have also increased from $2,000 to over $10,000 during that span of time. It is expected the participation of this event will be over 300 participants and closing on 400 with the addition of the ACO Corporate Cup. An exclusive competition for companies in the Cincinnati Metropolitan area.
“It's exciting to be back at Turfway Park for another premier event. Turfway Park last held an ACO event in 2010. We are familiar with the property and believe it will offer our players and spectators a unique experience.” - stated, Frank Geers, President of ACO.
Turfway Park’s fully enclosed facility offers easy interstate access, plentiful parking and a variety of economical food and beverage options. Spectators watch free.
Turfway Park, a Thoroughbred racetrack, will remain open during the competition for its regular schedule of simulcast racing.
The tournament is open to anyone interested in participating. Entry into the event is simple. Each person buys their own ticket for the event called a Golden Ticket. The tickets are sold in pricing tiers based on available stock. The prices increase which also adds to a growing purse payout. The ACO Worlds has a chance to be as high as $50,000 based on participation. To learn more about the event, visit the American Cornhole website and secure your ticket at www.americancornhole.com.
There is no charge for people interested in watching the competition. The tournaments start each day at 10am and run all day. Each day offers a variety of singles and doubles competitions.

About Turfway Park
Part of Kentucky’s year round Thoroughbred racing circuit, Turfway Park presents live racing from December through March. Opened in 1959 as Latonia Race Course, the track was renamed Turfway Park in 1986 and has been owned since 1999 by a partnership that currently includes Caesars Entertainment, Rock Gaming, and Keeneland Association. Known for innovation, Turfway Park introduced night racing to Kentucky, was the first Kentucky track to offer simulcast and intertrack wagering, and in 2005 pioneered the use of an all-weather surface for racing. Turfway Park is home to the $550,000 Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati Spiral Stakes (G3), a designated prep race for the Kentucky Derby.
