ACO prepares for full season of Cornhole September through May 2014

ACO Season IX runs September 2013 through May 2014 and is capped off with the ACO World Championships of Cornhole IX in July 2014.

The season begins with a lot of momentum. American Cornhole continues to add to its base of Cornhole Players and Fans, moving the interest in Cornhole from a regional base to a national base. This past July, the ACO worlds boasted players from 13 different states.

The ACO Season IX kicks off September 1, 2013 and goes through May 31, 2013. Some of the major highlights for Season IX are:

A.      A 75% growth in the ACO Certified Official Program

B.      National sponsorship interests from key brands

C.      Three $20,000 purse majors for Season IX

D.      Anticipated airing of Season VIII ACO Worlds on ESPN’s “Wider World of Sports”

The ACO Season IX  first Major will be held in Charleston, WV September 20^th & 21^st, 2013. In this ACO West Virginia Cornhole Cup event, players will compete for prizes and ACO World Ranking Points. The event includes:

1.       $5,000 Singles tournament with an additional $4,000 ACO-PRO purse

2.       $5,000 Doubles tournament

3.       $4,000 Crew competition

4.       $1,000 Luck of the Draw social event

5.       $1,000 Money Shot

Saturday activities will include nine of Charleston’s best music groups scheduled to take stage throughout the day as part of the Capital City Music Festival.

Players must be members of the ACO to participate in the singles and doubles. ACO Membership is $20 (valid for entire Season) and players may sign up for a Membership on the day of the event.
