Starbucks Recalling 530,000 Coffee Grinders Due to Risk of Injury
Starbucks Corp. has announced a recall of nearly 530,000 coffee grinders sold between March 2002 and March 2009 after it was discovered they could turn on unexpectedly or fail to turn off. The coffee grinders recall was issued after determining the malfunction posed a risk of injury.
The two models being recalled are the Starbucks Barista Blade Grinders and the Seattle’s Best Coffee Blade Grinders. According to Starbucks they received almost 200 reports of malfunctioning grinders with three injuries caused by the grinder turning on while an individual was cleaning the blades.
Starbucks has said anybody using the grinder should stop immediately and contact the company for a free replacement.
