What are features of your home that you've really enjoyed?

We absolutely love the location of our home. Westrivers is one of the most beautiful streets in Riverland Terrace, and our location across from an open park space gives us lots of privacy and a wonderful view from our cool front porch. We love the charm and character of our historic home that still has many of its original features, including trim, hardwood floors, and doors, but that all of the essential features have been updated, including the appliances, kitchens, bathrooms, windows, HVAC, and tankless hot water heater. We love the possibilities that the cottage provides us, including the income it produces, but also additional living space for family and friends in the future. We love our neighbors and the combination of sun and shade that we receive on our lot.

What can you tell us about your neighborhood?

This neighborhood is in the perfect location. It's so accessible to downtown and the beach, and grocery shopping and fabulous restaurants are very nearby. We love that people are constantly outside walking and that we have many friends in the neighborhood, who we frequently see at the playground or at the sunday farmers market. We also love the annual Halloween celebration, when all of Wappoo St is closed for trick or treaters. It's also fun to simply walk to the boat landing and watch the water as boats come in and out all day. I love that our neighborhood is zoned for the local public Montessori school and that we are surrounded by a community of school friends.

What do you love about your town?

I love living on James Island, because it is like living in a small town. I see people I know all over town. We are so close the the beach, downtown, and the country. I also love our choice of schools, and especially that we are zoned for a wonderful public Montessori school. James Island has the James Island County Park, which is an ideal place for all sorts of recreation, including a water park and enormous dog park. We also have the best fitness facilities in the area at Golds Gym.

Where do you love to eat?

Luckily, our all time favorite restaurant, The Lot, is right across Maybank Highway within walking distance, and we go there as often as possible for dinner or brunch. We also love the Wild Olive, which is just across the bridge in John's Island, as is our favorite pizza place, JI pizza. We love Barberitos for a quick weeknight meal and Zia Taqueria for drinks and snacks. Muddy Waters, just down the road, is great for coffee. We're also looking forward to two new restaurants opening in the neighborhood soon.

Grocery stores and other conveniences?

As mentioned, many great restaurants are nearby, as is the brand new Harris Teeter. We can also walk to the Terrace Theatre and the municipal golf course and Wappoo boat landing.
