Melvina Strickland-Terry Indicted for Sexual Relationships with Students

Melvina Strickland-Terry, a Texas high school teacher, was indicted Tuesday for having sexual relationships with students.

Strickland-Terry, 35, was indicted by a Brazoria County grand jury on charges of indecency with a child, sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between an educator and student.

Strickland-Terry, a former teacher at Willowridge High School in Sugar Land, had inappropriate sexual relationships with two male Willowridge students who were both under 17. Both incidents happened at the teacher's apartment, according to investigators.

Her bail was set at $75,000. All the charges are second-degree felonies punishable by a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Strickland-Terry resigned from the Fort Bend school district shortly after the allegations surfaced.
