Tara Allison Hodges, a middle school teacher in Texas, was arrested Wednesday for having sex with a 14-year old student.
Hodges, 26, turned herself in on Wednesday on charges of sexual assault of a child and with improper relationship between educator and student. Hodges is a special education teacher at Brazos Middle School in Waco, TX.
Hodges had left the McLennan County Jail on Thursday after posting a $150,000 bond, which was lowered from the original $300,000 bond.
According to the affidavit, Hodges and the student had sex at least ten times. During several of the encounters, Hodges smoked marijuana with the boy. However, there were no charges on drug-related offenses.
Hodges had worked for three years as a special education inclusion teacher, which means Hodges help to get her students ready for mainstream courses. Hodges resigned earlier this summer and indicated she had taken a teaching position in Katy.
