Earth Liberation Front Responsible for Street of Dreams Fire

Washington state Authorities believe that the Earth Liberation Front (ELF) is responsible for setting fire to luxury model homes at the Street of Dreams development in Echo Lake. The arsonist group is suspected as a 5ft by 5 ft sign was found at the scene sporting the signature “ELF.”

The sign read “Built Green? Nope BLACK! McMansions + RCD’s r not green. ELF.” RCD stands for rural cluter development.

 

Street of Dreams is an annual showcase of model homes. Fires were set in multiple places throughout six of the homes around 5 a.m. this morning. Many of them were still under construction. No one was living in any of the houses. Three were completely burned down while another only had smoke damage.

 

Fire officials said firefighters were not allowed to enter the homes out of fear for booby-traps. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating.

 

In the past ELF has claimed responsibility for other arsons.
