Come Support Catalina Cleanup In California With Scuba.com on February 20th

Irvine 2/14/2016 7:42:00 PM

The 35th annual Avalon harbor underwater cleanup is this Saturday, February 20th, 2016. Come out and show your support with Scuba.com and help clean up this famous harbor. Divers have made the Avalon Harbor Underwater Cleanup one of their premier social events of the year. Last year in 2015, approximately 500 participants uncovered almost 3,000 pounds of trash and other lost items.

The Catalina Island Conservancy was founded in 1972 as a non-profit organization that works to protect endangered species and restore threatened habitats. This year, USC’s Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber and Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies - Catalina Conservation Divers are proud to host the 2016 Avalon Underwater Cleanup. We hope to beat last years record of nearly 3,000 pounds of trash and other items removed from the ocean.

With your help, we can help clean up Avalon Harbor and continue to conserve this beautiful area for generations to come. You can register online at www.usc.edu/esvp, code: 35thCleanup. For non-divers the cost is $25, for divers the cost is $60 at the day of registration at Wrigley Stage.

Scuba.com is going to be there showing support and getting involved. This will be a fun event where you not only get to help the environment but you can get involved with your local community.
