New York Jets End Holdout with Darrelle Revis
The New York Jets signed draft pick Darrelle Revis to a six-year, $36 million contract, ending a long-term holdout. The cornerback, who was drafted #14 in this past draft, has missed 21 days of training camp and 23 practice sessions. This is the first time the Jets have let a draft pick go unsigned entering training camp since James Farrior in 1997. This was also the longest holdout in franchise history since Keyshawn Johnson held out for 24 days.
With this signing, Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell is the only draft pick who remains unsigned. With the recent signing of former All-Pro quarterback Daunte Culpepper, Russell's status is unsure with the franchise.
