Hilary Carol Cruz Crowned Miss Teen USA
Hilary Carol Cruz was crowned the new Miss Teen USA on Friday night at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California.
The 18-year-old native of Louisville, Colorado beat out first runner-up Alyssa Campanella from New Jersey and Kaitlin Coble from North Carolina to receive the tiara from outgoing Miss Teen USA Katie Blair.
In winning the competition Hilary Carol Cruz became the first Miss Teen USA from Colorado to take the top spot.
Cruz said she plans to complete her Bachelors degree in journalism and pursue a career in television news.
Miss Maryland Teen USA Allison Farrow won the photogenic award while Miss Mississippi Teen USA Anne Elise Parks captured the congeniality award.
