How will the EDS acquisition change the world?
The acquisition that went public this week involving two respective powerhouses Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and Hewlett Packard (HP) has created quite a buzz in the business world, and many are skeptical about several different aspects of the transition. Many questions are evident for buyers and providers that will be answered over the next several months. Will it change the price points for buyers? Who is the next to be acquired? What will be the dominant culture of EDS and HP Company?
Trowbridge says “We think this will be net good for the industry, but buyers need to think through the full impact on the competitive vendor landscape. The choices are clearly not the same for buyers and competitors. The old rules of thumb on what and who to outsource to are now in motion to a new-new norm.
