Police Confirm 7 Killed California College Shooting

Authorities in California announced Monday evening 7 people were killed in the shooting at Oikos University, a Korean Christian college in Oakland. Police Chief Howard Jordan also identified the suspected gunman as 43-year-old One L. Goh, a Korean national who previously took nursing classes at the university. Goh was arrested shortly after the shooting at a Safeway store in Alameda about five miles from the university. The motive for his attack remains unclear.

"It's going to take us a few days to put the pieces together," Jordan said. "We do not have a motive."

Goh arrived at Oikos University around 10:30 a.m. Witnesses say he entered a classroom and demanded that students line up against a wall. He then pulled out a handgun and began shooting. Five people died at the scene and two others passed away at a nearby hospital. Three people were wounded.

The dead and wounded have not been identified. California Gov. Jerry Brown offered his condolences in a statement released by his office. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their families and friends and the entire community affected by this senseless act of violence," he said.
