Casey Anthony Won’t be Deposed from Jail in Defamation Lawsuit

Casey Anthony will not be deposed from jail in a defamation lawsuit filed against her by Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez after an Orlando judge ruled she could answer written questions from jail rather than undergo a videotaped deposition.

While Casey Anthony, 22, is facing first-degree murder charges in the death of her then 2-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony she is also facing a defamation lawsuit tied to her accusations during the investigation into her daughter’s disappearance.

Caylee Antony disappeared in June but Casey Anthony did not report her missing for a month and then told investigators she had dropped her daughter off with a babysitter named Zenaida Gonzalez and when she returned both were gone.

Authorities quickly dismissed Anthony’s accusations but Fernandez-Gonzalez has said the allegations have had a lasting impact.

Fernandez-Gonzalez has since said the accusations have devastated her and cost her jobs and made her the target of verbal attacks.

The remains of Caylee Anthony were discovered last month, less than half a mile from the home she lived in with her mother and grandparents.
