The audio interview with Perry Williams conducted on July 11, 2006 by TransWorldNews has been uploaded for listeners. The thirty minute interview with Mr. Williams details his life growing up in North Carolina all the way through his eleven years as a two time Super Bowl champion with the N.Y. Giants.

Williams is currently the director of the Outreach program at Farleigh Dickinson University and is personally involved in Childhood Initiatives. Williams credits his philosophy “prepare yourself for the window of opportunity” as the cornerstone to his achievements both on and off the playing field.

His early days in North Carolina found him staring for the nationally ranked high school Richmond Raiders where he routinely played before 20,000-25,000 fans. It was this type of environment that taught him the importance of the motto “believe it to achieve it.” His determination and persistence landed him a duel scholarship to N.C. State where he excelled in football as well as track.

Through preparation and believing in himself Williams set a world record in the 220 meters (eventually eclipsed by Carl Lewis), and was training for the 1980 Olympics until Jimmy Carter announced the U.S. intention to boycott the Moscow hosted event.

The interview touches on the Super Bowl victories over John Elway and the Denver Broncos in January of 1987 as well as the infamous Scott Norwood and the Buffalo Bills in January 1991.

Much of the interview focuses on Williams passion for childhood initiatives and his involvement in teaching leadership and ethics classes as well as drug and alcohol awareness. Williams encourages kids to be a student-athletes and focus on school as a means to success. As a man of strong convictions, Williams continued his education while still playing in the NFL, attending graduate school in the off-season.
