Landis’ B sample confirms first test, unnaturally elevated levels of testosterone found in body.

For Floyd Landis the fight to clear his name from doping allegations will go into full swing. A spokesman for Landis said on Friday “Floyd is a fighter and Floyd is prepared for a fight just like the way he went out and fought for a Tour de France win.”

Ever since the results of a July 20th test came back positive Landis maintained his innocence. Offering possibilities ranging from thyroid medication and cortisone shots to dehydration and a few drinks the night before his momentous 17th stage comeback, Landis has been adamant about the legitimacy of his victory.

That’s not to say he is expecting the B sample to come back negative, rather he is preparing for the worst.

Jose Maria Buxeda, a lawyer representing Landis, said “He's pretty sure we will be able to prove, if this result is confirmed, that it is due to natural causes.”

Tests results of Landis’ first sample showed a testosterone-epitestosterone level of 11:1 well above the 4:1 limit. A level most experts believe could not be achieved through natural means.

According to the Tour winner he was tested eight times during the three week race and all results came back negative.

Pat McQuaid, International Cycling Union president, made a statement on the official UCI web site prior to the results being revealed. Talking about the possibility of the B sample confirming the initial test McQuaid “it would be a great disappointment and an unacceptable violation”

Landis faces the possibility of being the first Tour winner to be stripped of his title. He is facing a two year suspension as well.
