I remember before I started my journey, I knew it was all about “lifestyle change” and not dieting.
But it didn’t compute for me.
I thought lifestyle change still meant cutting out food groups, never enjoying my favorite foods again, working out for hours and hours.
I was one of those people that would go hard for 2 weeks then burn out.
I didn’t think I was capable of being consistent.
Until I learned that perfection and consistency are NOT the same.
Consistency is not trying to only eat “healthy” and saying screw it if you eat a cookie.
Consistency is realizing that you can have off days with nutrition and still make progress.
Consistency is enjoying vacation and coming back home and hopping back into your routine.
Consistency is not beating yourself up for missing a workout or two.
Consistency is knowing that life throws us curveballs we cannot control but do our best regardless.
Perfection is NOT required.
80% consistency means you can have 6-7 days out of the month where you “mess up.”
80% consistency is a great place to be for progress.
You don’t have to be extreme, you just need to be consistent.
One meal won’t make you unhealthy just like one workout won’t make you healthy.
Once you realize your definition of consistency is flawed, everything changes.
I know it did for me.
I no longer live in the black and white, the all or nothing.
I live in the grey area, where consistency is and the magic happens. ✨
