We have read in the media that “psychiatric disorders” and the number of suicides are increasing among young women. This increase is in Sweden parallel with a heavy increase in the prescription of antidepressants and other psychiatric drugs to young women.
The increased prescription of antidepressants has occurred despite the well-founded warnings issued about increased risk of suicidal behaviour in children and young adults who take antidepressants.
