Northfield, IL – What we put in our bodies is what our body uses to function. Unfortunately, with our busy schedules, we tend to eat the same foods over and over, depriving ourselves of the variety needed for essential nourishment. If there’s something wrong with the way our body is functioning, our diet should to be the first thing we suspect could be the culprit, not the last.
“What’s at the end of our fork is more powerful than anything in a vial of pills,” says Christina Chodos, certified health counselor and founder of The Chodos Group. Chodos specializes in providing personal diet, wellness, and nutrition solutions to families and individuals for a new healthy lifestyle.
Chodos subscribes to a concept known as bio-individuality which states that each person has unique food and lifestyle needs (one person’s food can be another person’s poison). According to Chodos, most approaches to nutrition focus on limiting calories, carbohydrates, and fats, instead of identifying a person’s problem foods: the allergies, sensitivities, and intolerances that can wreak havoc on their bodies.
Christina Chodos is the mother of three boys who have extensive food and environmental allergies. Her experience navigating their health needs inspired her to pursue an education through the Institute of Integrated Nutrition. Now with The Chodos Group, her mission has become her passion.
“I think this is really coming to the forefront as an issue of healthcare,” says Chodos. “We have to get back to the basics. We need to understand that our food has the power to heal. It really is eating your way to good health, or as I like to say ‘eating your medicine.’”
Chodos guides her clients toward the food and lifestyle choices that will enable them to achieve all of their health goals. Often clients believe they have to relearn everything, but small changes can make big differences.
“So many times when clients walk in and I take, for example, gluten out of their life, they feel like I just took a chunk of their life away from them,” says Chodos. “But I’m all about solutions. You have options. You’d be surprised how simple and good some of those options are.”
Close-Up Talk Radio will feature Christina Chodos in an interview with Doug Llewelyn on July 10th at 7pm EST and with Jim Masters on July 17th at 7pm EST.
