Collins specializes in something called “smart growth” which means they typically will only pursue projects where there is necessary infrastructure and development already in place. Collins Enterprises’ smart growth projects are conceived in response to population trends, employment growth and established infrastructure, employing their acquired specialized skills in developing brownfields, creating public/private partnerships and utilizing sophisticated tax structures to create new markets in redeveloping cities.

“We are looking at these places as real opportunities and we try to do a lot of business with cities that have a definitive business plan as far as moving their city forward and attracting people and companies,” says Dwight Collins. “That’s really our mission and we do that through buying existing properties where we can actually add value. We do that with new development and the focus is primarily on properties that have strategic assets, for instance buildings that are located right by train stations.

“This is the niche we play,” says Dwight Collins. “We bring expertise, foresight, experience. We see opportunities earlier than other people because we can see the pathway through to execution. We present ourselves as an institutional group, in charge of everything because we really know and understand how to execute every aspect of the process.”
