Russell Brand Throws Paparazzo’s Phone Through Window, Arrest Warrant Issued
A misdemeanor arrest warrant for Russell Brand was issued Wednesday night after a photographer filed a police report accusing the actor of snatching his iPhone and throwing it through a window in downtown New Orleans. The paparazzo, Timothy Jackson, claims he was simply taking pictures of Brand with his phone when the Arthur star suddenly “flipped out.” He cited “criminal damages” in the police report.
The phone busted the window of a law firm. Brand, 36, contacted the firm and offered to pay for the damage. It is unclear if he has contacted Jackson. Brand, who is in New Orleans for film a movie, Tweeted about the incident. "Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory,” he wrote.
A rep for Brand has not commented. The Get Him To The Greek star most recently made headlines for his divorce from wife Katy Perry. The pair reached a settlement out of court last month.
