Britney Spears “In Negotiations” For X Factor Position
Britney Spears is rumored to be heading to TV. The pop star is “in negotiations” with Simon Cowell to appear as a judge on the upcoming season of The X Factor, an insider tells People magazine.
“There have been talks. Anything is possible,” the source says.
Earlier this week it was reported Spears, 30, has been offered a $10 million deal. The singer has not commented. In an appearance on Good Morning New York, Cowell refused to confirm or deny the rumors.
“You'll have to wait and see. I can't confirm or deny anything right now. The truth is, we are talking to a number of people,” he said. “We're looking at a very famous singer and one very famous actress. You've gotta talk to everybody.”
The X Factor was left with two vacant seats at the judge’s table after show bosses decided to sack Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul. Host Steve Jones was also let go. Cowell previously admitted the shakeup happened because of the lukewarm response to season one. "It's only because I opened my big mouth and said we were going to get 20 million [viewers]. If I hadn't said that, everybody would be saying the show was a huge success,” he said.
