Lindsay Lohan Violates Probation, Gets 120 Days in Jail
It looks like Lindsay Lohan’s legal troubles will not be ending any time soon – the actress was sentenced Friday to 120 days in jail and 480 hours of community service for violating probation in her DUI case. She spent 5 hours in jail Friday before posting $75,000 bail. She is appealing the sentence.
The violation stems from Lohan’s arrest in February. She was accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Los Angeles jewelry store. Lohan was originally charged with felony grand theft, but the charge was downgraded to a misdemeanor during last week's hearing. Her trial is set to begin on June 3.
Producer Nathan Folks, a friend of Lohan, tells People magazine the actress is “upset” about the sentence. “She is angry because she has been working so hard on turning her life around. She didn't do what they said she did. She didn't steal that necklace,” says Folks.
Lohan has not commented. She recently landed a role opposite John Travolta in the upcoming film Gotti: Three Generations.
