Mummified Remains Of Actress Yvette Vickers Discovered in Beverly Hills Home
Popular ‘50s Playboy pinup model and actress Yvette
Vickers was found dead in her Beverly Hills home last week. A concerned
neighbor identified as Susan Savage discovered Vickers’ mummified remains Wednesday
after noticing yellowing mail building up in the former star’s mailbox and the
increasingly poor state of her home. It is believed Vickers, 82, could have
died a year ago. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
Foul play is not suspected.
"She kept to herself, had friends and seemed like a
very independent spirit,” said Savage.
“We’ve all be crying about this. Nobody should be left
alone like that,” she added.
Vickers , who dated high profile Hollywood stars like
Carey Grant and Jim Hutton, made her movie debut in Sunset Boulevard and was
first credited in 1957’s Short Cut to Hell. She later starred in hit sci-fi
films including Attack of the 50 Foot Woman and Attack of the Leeches. Vickers
made a brief appearance opposite Paul Newman in the Oscar-winning film Hud. Her
last movie role was in the 1990 horror film Evil Spirits, which starred
Virginia Mayo, Karen Black and Arte Johnson.
