American Idol Results Recap: Jacob Lusk and Lauren Alaina Land in Bottom 2
After several weeks of landing in the bottom 3, it was
finally Jacob Lusk’s time to go last night on American Idol. Judges were not
impressed with the direction Lusk went on Wednesday’s show. He performed the
Chris Brown and Jordan Sparks duet “No Air” and said that is the type of song
he would record for his own album. Randy Jackson was not a fan of the song
choice and did not agree that Lusk is that type of artist. Randy thought Lusk
could have redeemed himself with his second performance of “Love Hurts” if he
had not made a small mistake during the song.
“I think that America fell in love with me, and now I can
go out and put out that good-feeling R&B music that reminds you of Luther,
reminds you of those great old singers. And I get to come out and put that out,”
Lusk said after his elimination.
It was also a rough night for Lauren Alaina, who landed
in the bottom 2 for the first time ever. Alaina immediately burst in to tears.
