Lindsay Lohan Gets 4 Months in Jail For Theft
Lindsay Lohan is headed back to jail. The actress was sentenced to four months in jail, 480 hours of community service, psychological counseling and an anti-shoplifting program Wednesday after pleading no contest to misdemeanor theft charges. Lohan, 24, originally plead not guilty and was set to go to trial. She was not in court Wednesday when her lawyer changed her plea to no contest.
Lohan will likely serve her time on house arrest due to overcrowding at the jail. She could serve as few as 17 days of the sentence. Lohan must report to jail by June 17.
"I hope to be able to fulfill my obligation without any press attention. I think the media spotlight should be on issues such as homelessness and domestic violence instead of on me,” Lohan said in a statement Wednesday.
Although Lohan continues to battle legal problems, she seems to be getting her career back on track. She recently signed on to play Kim Gotti in the upcoming John Gotti biopic Gotti: Three Generations. The film also stars John Travolta, Kelly Preston and Al Pacino.
