Dancing with the Stars Recap: Final 3 Do Freestyle Routines
Last night on Dancing with the Stars, the final 3 stars performed two dances – the first was a dance of the judge’s choice and the second was a the much anticipated freestyle dance.
Tying in first place with 59 out of 60 points each are Disney star Chelsea Kane and football star Hines Ward. Judges chose the samba for Chelsea’s first dance. All three judges agreed Chelsea nailed her samba. Len Goodman said it was a “great number” while Bruno Tonioli called the actress an “ultra-sexy bombshell.” Chelsea’s freestyle received even more praise. Carrie Ann Inaba was speechless, but Bruno and Len had plenty to say. “It’s electrifying,” Bruno declared.
For Hines’ first dance judges picked the quickstep. He received mixed reviews. Carrie Ann loved it, but Len said it was “not quite there yet” and lacked a wow factor. Bruno compared the dance to a “mega-production on Broadway.” For his freestyle, Hines said he wanted to create a “halftime show.” "That wasn't really a halftime show. That was the whole damn Super Bowl!" Inaba declared.
Just five points behind in last place was Kirstie Alley. The actress was assigned the samba for her first dance. Len thought she did a “lovely job,” but said it “could have been a little bit crisper.” Kirstie went for lifts in her freestyle, and Bruno said that it earned her respect. "Honest truth: 10 weeks ago, I would never have thought of you even attempting to do lifts and things you've done tonight. You have to really appreciate what you've achieved. Respect, girl, respect,” he said.
