The Bachelorette Recap: Ashley Hebert Goes on First Dates
With the cocktail party over and her first set of guys chosen, Ashley Hebert sent her first batch of date cards to the bachelor pad. William, a cell phone salesman, received the first one-on-one date of the season. Ashley picks him up in her convertible and they head to Las Vegas where William is put to the test.
Their first stop is to a wedding cake shop where they do a taste test and decide on a flavor. The next stop is a jewelry store where they pick out weddings rings. The final stop is a wedding chapel. That’s where William admitted to getting nervous about how the date was going to end. He ends up saying “I do,” but Ashley stops their wedding before it becomes officials. She liked that he went through with the charade. It was then off to dinner in the middle of the Bellagio fountain for Ashley and William. William gets serious and tells her of his dad’s death. Ashley likes his serious side and sends him back to the bachelor pad with a rose.
The group date went to Ames, Ben F., Bentley, Blake, Chris, Constantine, Lucas, Matt, Nick, Ryan M. and Stephen. The guys flew to Las Vegas to compete for the opportunity to perform with Ashley and the Jabawockeez, who won America’s Best Dance Crew. Team No Rhythm Nation, which consisted of Ben F., Bentley, Blake, Lucas and Nick, won the challenge and performed later that night. After the performance the group enjoyed a cocktail party and one-on-one time with the Bachelorette. When it’s Bentley’s turn he whines about getting the last rose at cocktail party on the first night. Somehow he gets Ashley to beg him to stay and give him the date rose. Bentley’s true colors shine during his one-on-one with the camera. He lets everyone know that Ashley is not good enough for him, but he would be willing to let her “tickle my [bleep].”
For the final one-on-one date, Ashley leaves it up to a coin toss between JP and Mickey. Mickey wins. Their date includes picking out wine, talking by a giant tank of sting rays, dinner and a trip to a man-made beach for a mini concert. Mickey gets the date rose.
Before the cocktail party in which 3 guys were sent packing, Ashley does her one-on-one rounds. When it’s Jeff’s turn he tells her about having a brain hemorrhage at 29 and divorcing his wife after he learned of some “unfaithfulness.” He is seconds away from finally removing the mask he has been wearing since he arrived, but they are interrupted by Matt. At the rose ceremony, Matt, Stephen and Ryan get the boot.
