Mildred Baena Opens Up About Maria Shriver
In the new issue of Hello! Magazine, Mildred Baena opens up about admitting to Maria Shriver last year that the father of her 13-year-old son Joseph is Shriver’s husband, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Baena, who worked as the Schwarzenegger’s housekeeper for 20 years, said she made the confession after Shriver asked her “point blank” if Schwarzenegger was Joseph’s father.
"Last summer, I brought Joseph over to the house. Until then, he hadn't been around very much. After that, people in the house started whispering about how much they looked like each other,” Baena tells Hello. "Maria would ask if I needed to talk to her, and I kept saying no. Finally, she asked point blank. Maria asked me directly if Joseph was Arnold's son, and I just broke down. I dropped to my knees and I was crying, saying that yes he was and I was so sorry.”
When Baena offered to leave the Schwarzenegger house immediately, Shriver insisted she stay until the holidays were over. "Since I was retiring soon, I said I would pack and leave right away, but she said to stay until after the holidays,” Baena says.
As for how Joseph took the news, Baena says he just said “Cool!”
Neither Schwarzenegger nor Shriver has commented on Baena’s interview.
