Men Suspected of Planning to Kill Joss Stone Arrested
Two men suspected of planning to kidnap and kill British singer Joss Stone were arrested Monday near her home. The suspects, ages 30 and 33, were armed with swords, rope, a body bag and aerial shots of Stone’s home when authorities took them into custody. Police were altered to the pair’s “suspicious” Fiat Punto after neighbors noticed the vehicle driving slowly through the neighborhood.
Detective Inspector Steve Parker confirmed the arrests, but declined to offer any other information, including the names of the suspects. "The two men in custody had in their possession information relating to an individual in the Cullompton area and items which lead us to suspect that they may have intended to commit a criminal offense," Parker said. "We're unable to say anymore at this time, but I would like to thank the local residents for reporting the suspicious car. It's important to stress that no properties have been burgled and no individuals have been harmed."
It is unclear if Stone, 24, was at home at the time of the arrests. She released a statement Wednesday saying she is “absolutely fine.” “I'd like to thank everyone for their concern but I'm absolutely fine and getting on with life as normal while the police continue with their inquiries," Stone said.
