Rebecca Black Pulls Friday Music Video Off YouTube
Rebecca Black’s infamous “Friday” music video was pulled off YouTube on Friday, just days after a rental fee was added to the video. Ark Music Factory, the company that produced the video, was charging $2.99 for users to have access to the video for 72 hours.
"Thanks for all the message regarding the $2.99 fee added to Friday video," Black tweeted Tuesday. "I have NOTHING to do with this!"
"My manager and lawyer are on this and going to get to the bottom of this. Stay tuned,” she added.
YouTube took the video down on Friday citing “a copyright claim by Rebecca Black.” Black’s lawyers have accused Ark Music Factory of unlawful exploitation of Black’s publicity rights and copyright infringement.
"We can confirm that we submitted a Take Down Notice to YouTube as a result of the dispute we have with Ark Music regarding the 'Friday' video," a rep for the aspiring singer told TMZ.
“Friday” went viral in early March and received widespread criticism. The song sparked numerous parodies and jokes. By early June, “Friday” had received more than 3,190,000 "dislikes" on YouTube.
