Bachelorette Recap: Ashley Gets Closure With Bentley
After weeks of being unable to forget about Bentley, Ashley Hebert got the closure she needed on last night’s Bachelorette. The episode started with Chris Harrison informing Ashley that Bentley had flown to Hong Kong to talk to her.
"When he left, he told me he wants to end on a 'dot, dot, dot.' That usually means 'to be continued.' I need the closure from Bentley to really move on,” she said.
Ashley made her way to Bentley’s room to a talk. She pushed Bentley to give her closure and finally realized he had been playing her. "I cannot believe that I wasted so much time on Bentley," she said. "I needed this time away from him to be able to see through him. He's such a player. He disrespected me to the core. Bentley, if you're watching this, [bleep] you; I'm done with you."
With her feelings for Bentley taken care of, Ashley joined Lucas on a one-on-one date. They enjoy shopping in the markets before boarding a boat for dinner. The conversation turns serious at dinner with Lucas talking about his ex-wife and their divorce. Ashley gives Lucas the rose because she feels comfortable and “protected” when she is with him.
The group date goes to Ames, Mickey, Ryan, Blake, Constantine and Ben. She splits them in to three teams to compete in a dragon boat race. Each team gets an hour to recruit people to help them row. Mickey and Ames win the race, but its Ryan who wins the date rose. The guys are not happy Ashley doesn’t seem to see the “real” Ryan that they see every day.
The last one-on-one date goes to JP. They meet for a simple picnic dinner. Ashley decides she needs to tell JP about the Bentley situation and he takes the news quite well. JP thanks Ashley for telling him and says he is glad she finally got the closure she needed.
Ashley’s talk with JP inspired her to deliver the Bentley news at the cocktail party before the rose ceremony. The other guys don’t take it well. Lucas is mad that Ashley is wasting his time, Mickey is angry she lied to him, Blake is mad about Bentley getting a one-on-one when he hasn’t and Constantine says Ashley has been “contradictory.” Mickey decides to leave before the rose ceremony. His departure makes Ashley break down in front of the guys and her tears soften them. At the rose ceremony, Blake is sent packing.
