Elizabeth Hurley To Star on Gossip Girl
Elizabeth Hurley is headed to TV after all. Two months after NBC canned the Wonder Woman pilot in which Hurley starred opposite Adrienne Palicki, the British star has landed a temporary role on the hit CW show Gossip Girl.
Executive producers Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran have confirmed Hurley will star as media mogul Diana Payne on several episodes of the upcoming fifth season. They describe Payne as "a sexy, smart, self-made media mogul and all-around force to be reckoned with.”
“Diana's entrance on the Upper East Side will change the lives of all our characters -- including, and especially, Gossip Girl herself,” Savage and Safran said. "Elizabeth's sense of humor, intelligence and beauty fit the GG world perfectly. We feel very fortunate to have her."
Hurley, 38, most recently made headlines for her divorce from Indian businessman Arun Nayar. The divorce was finalized last month in a London court. Hurley is currently dating Australian cricket player Shane Warne.
