The Better Business Bureau system has uncovered scammers in the air duct cleaning business. A rescheduled segment will air on NBC's Dateline on Sunday, January 30th at 6pm. This national feature demonstrates how the BBB is working to protect consumers and ethical businesses everyday. Michele Mason of the BBB Huntsville will be featured on NBC Dateline this Sunday talking about air duct scammers.
NBC describes it as: Dateline presents a compelling new franchise, "The Hansen Files." With the help of the Better Business Bureau, Reporter Chris Hansen and Dateline's hidden cameras uncover secrets and scams-- taking a special look into a nationwide ring of air duct cleaning companies. This brazen scam--one that has thrived for more than a decade--cons thousands of consumers, each year, out of millions of dollars, and targets one of the most vulnerable segments of the population: the elderly. If you have elderly friends and relatives please advise them of this program as in decades of experience in working on scams we have found they are often the target.
The story is the first in what is expected to be a series of segments where the BBB and Dateline TV partner to expose bad businesses and how to get referred to excellent companies such as BBB Accredited Businesses.
Tune in or tape NBC's Dateline on Sunday, January 30th at 7pm to get further educated, empowered and informed concerning scams in the marketplace.
