Genomics of Aerobiology: Cutting Age Technology for IEQ/IAQ Evaluations

The XXXIV Annual Conference of Environmental Mutagenic Society of India (EMSI) and International Symposium on “Genomics and Molecular basis of Human Diseases” hosted by the Post Graduate Department of Botany, Magadh University, Bodh-Gaya, and Bihar, India during March 16-19, 2009. Dr. Rajiv Sahay CIAQP, FIAS Director of Laboratory Services at Environmental Diagnostics Laboratory (EDLab) at Pure Air Control Services, an AIHA accredited laboratory, delivered a talk on “Genomics of Aerobiology”.
Dr. Sahay emphasized the genomic (study of genomes) techniques and their importance in context to indoor environmental/air quality diversity. “The genomic techniques are a cutting age technology for evaluating the close environment especially for assessing the microbial diversity along with an immersing problem of resistant/mutagenic strains of microbes perpetuating into the ambient air/environment” stated Dr. Rajiv Sahay at the international conference. A number of researchers, academicians, scientists, students and others both from India and abroad attended Dr. Sahay’s deliberation concerned of the emerging issue of IEQ/IAQ with a special reference to Indian sub-continent in global prospect.
