Charles Lee, MD,
Founder & President of Polyglot Systems, Inc., has been appointed as a consultant
to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
Risk Communication Advisory Committee.
Dr. Lee, board certified in internal medicine, received his Doctorate of Medicine from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Rootstown, OH, and his Bachelor of Science from Kent State University, Kent, OH. Lee is a past National Library of Medicine Fellow at the Duke University / University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Medical Informatics program; a Fellow of Michigan State University Faculty Development Research, and earned an additional Fellowship at Aultman Hospital, Canton, OH, in Internal Medicine.
In his newly appointed consulting role with the FDA Risk Communication Advisory Committee, Dr. Lee will consult with the committee on strategies and programs designed to improve communication for patients with low health literacy and language barriers.

Dr. Lee is the recipient of several SBIR grants from the National Institutes of Health to improve healthcare communication and reduce disparities of information access for minority populations. He received numerous awards including the People's Choice Award at the Council for Entrepreneurial Development's InfoTech 2003 for his work at Polyglot Systems, Inc. Lee is also a recipient of the Tibbett’s Award (2001) from the U.S. Small Business Administration for his work. The prestigious Tibbett’s Award is given to small businesses working in research and development to recognize them as "models of excellence" in technology. In 2007, he was awarded the Health Care Heroes award from the Triangle Business Journal (Raleigh, NC).
