Conservative Blogger Andrew Breitbart Dies At 43

Andrew Breitbart, a conservative blogger, activist and commentator known for his outspoken personality, has died. According to a statement posted on Breitbart.com, the 43-year-old was pronounced dead at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles early this morning after collapsing outside his Brentwood home. Breitbart is survived by his wife Susannah and four children.

"Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles. We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior. Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love,” Breitbart.com editor-in-chief Joel Pollak wrote.

Breitbart served as an editor for the Drudge Report and helped launch The Huffington Post before starting his own websites, including Breitbart.tv, Big Hollywood, Big Government, Big Journalism and Big Peace. His articles have been published in the Wall Street Journal, National Review Online and The Washington Times. Breitbart often appeared as a commentator on Real Time with Bill Maher and Dennis Miller. Last year, Breitbart exposed the Twitter scandal involving New York representative Anthony Weiner. Weiner resigned after admitting he Tweeted a photo of his crotch to a female follower.
