Ex Congressman Dan Rostenkowski Dies at 82

Dan Rostenkowski, a former Illinois Congressman who served over a year in federal prison after pleading guilty to corruption charges, has died. Rostenkowski passed away at his Wisconsin home on Wednesday. He was 82. No cause of death was given.

Rostenkowski was served 36 years in Congress and lead the Ways and Means Committee for 14 years. In 1993 he was indicted on 17 felony counts, including using public funds to pay workers to mow his lawn and renovate his home. Rostenkowski pleaded guilty to corruption charges in 1996 and served over a year in prison. President Bill Clinton pardoned him in 2000.
