Lean Six Sigma is mainly oriented to optimizing existing operations. Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) helps optimize the development of new products or services, but the mindset is still one of Six Sigma.

Based on research from the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), the Profile covers cornerstones of the Lean Six Sigma Mindset. They are:
1. Evolutionary or revolutionary?
2. Achiever or a problem solver?
3. Innovator or processor?
4. A leader or follower?
5. A thinker or doer?
6. Big Picture or Detail?
Each of these motivation traits uses its own vocabulary, so when people are having trouble communicating with someone, it’s because of differences in styles. But anyone can learn to speak their language and influence others. It also provides insights into writing marketing copy that speaks to a target market.
