Alternative to Traditional Birthday Cakes Are you as tired as I am of baking a traditional birthday cake for birthdays? In my search to find something different and fun I spent way too much time perusing online for something different. After seeing the same old recipes over an over I decided to look through my great grandmothers recipe book. I came across a recipe for Whoopie Pies.   Let me tell you the name definitely describes my son and his friends reaction when they saw them. An individual cake for each of them. Buttercream icing with marshmallow wedged between two generous disks of chocolate cake. Whats not to love? To say the least they were an instant hit.
