Recovery is not a neat and clean process. The reality is, recovery is difficult and filled with challenges and setbacks. this is especially true where the road to healing is often marked by relapse. For many addicts, it can be easy to lose hope for a recovery when they find themseves somehow using even after going throug rehab. Addiction is a disease, and the healing process can take time. Many addiction treatment centers are not able to help every addict find their way out of the darkness and into the light. When this happens, it is easy for addicts to lose their hope and their dream of recovering from their addiction. They find themselves lost and empty, not knowing where to turn for answers.
Treatment centers know how heartbreaking relapse can be for both the addict and thier family. Drug rehabs are in the business of helping addicts turn their lives around and conquer their addictions to drugs and alcohol. The sad truth is that not every addiction treatment center can help every addict. For some addicts, it will take many turns in an addiction treatment center before they can find their bright light once again. There are many addicts who are in a treatment center for the third, fourth or fifth time. This does not mean that they are incapable of recovery. It means that they need patience and support if they are willing to try again.
It is important not to lose hope. Long term recovery is possible for anyone with the right help and support. Search our treatment centers that are well respected in thier field. Places that individualize treatment plans and offer pshychiatric care in addition to addiction treatment are often the best chioce for someone who chronically relapses. Go online and search for dual diagnosis facillities. Sometimes there is an underlying psychiatric condition that cannot be ignored for recovery to be successful.
It can be disheartening to have to return to an addiction treatment center time and time again. Recovery seems elusive and completely out of reach. You have watched countless other addicts walk out of the addiction treatment centers into their new and healthy lives. Why can't you do it too? There is no easy answer. Addiction is a disease that affects every person differently, and every person has a different way of working towards a meaningful and lasting recovery. For many addicts, it will take years and many times in treatment before they experience a difference in how they think about their future. It is important for addicts not to lose hope along the way. Recovery is best achieved at your own pace, and if it takes longer than your friend's recovery, then so be it. The result will be much sweeter.
