On Saturday February 1, seminars to discuss many aspects of the
newly enacted Illinois medical cannabis law will be held by Illinois NORML and
Midwest Cannabis Consulting LLC in Springfield. Separate seminars will be
devoted to patient needs and business interests. The patient information
seminar on will be held from 1-3 PM followed by a medical cannabis business
seminar from 3-5 PM. The seminars will be held at the Candlewood Suites (2501
Sunrise Dr.) in Springfield, IL.
The patient seminar will educate people on the new law, what
conditions qualify, what to expect from the new program, what cannabinoids are
and how medical cannabis can be helpful for different conditions. The business
seminar will detail opportunities to get involved in the soon-to-be legal
medical cannabis industry in Illinois.
Illinois NORML is the Illinois chapter of the National
Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, the oldest national public
policy organization dedicated to changing our policies relating to cannabis.
The Illinois chapter has worked over the past decade to pass a medical cannabis
bill in Illinois and is dedicated to supporting a medical cannabis system that
best supports patients and their needs. Illinois NORML supports the new law because
it legally protects patients and their doctor’s right to choose the best course
of treatment for each individual situation and will help thousands of seriously
ill people relieve their debilitating symptoms with cannabis.
