Key Robert E. Lee: Calling Steve About My 2016 Halloween Dream Return ~ New on the Bryan William Brickner Blog

Virginian Rebels

Chicago 10/31/2014 9:00:00 AM

“Robert E. Lee passed in October 1870,” opened Bryan W. Brickner, “and yet, in 2016, he’s a key player in selecting our next president.”

Author Bryan W. Brickner dialogues with his colleague and friend, Stephen Young, who helps interpret a (conjured) dream with revolutionary spirits. In Key Robert E. Lee: Calling Steve About My 2016 Halloween Dream Return, new on the Bryan William Brickner Blog, this year’s dream poses one Virginian standing next to another: John F. Pettigrew side-by-side with Robert E. Lee, with Lee holding a key with 2016 presidential implications.

“Pettigrew,” explained Brickner, “was an 18 year-old Virginian in 1776, who volunteered as a rebel in our Revolutionary War; he later moved to Michigan, where he saw it become a state in 1837, before his death in 1838.”

“Lee, of course,” Brickner noted, “is the better known of the two characters, though the dreamscape Lee is from Pettigrew’s era: he’s pictured/imagined as the 1838 1Lt. Robert E. Lee, US Army Engineers.”

“His federal service of three decades in the US Army,” offered Brickner, “gave Lee a unique (strategic) opportunity before the carnage began: for instance, his April 1861 meetings with General Winfield Scott and President Lincoln’s representative, Mr. Blair.”

“Lee’s 2016 key,” closed Brickner, “is not a military one; it’s a political key, one that unlocks the US Constitution and unites We the People (again).”

Brickner has a 1997 political science doctorate from Purdue University and is the author of several political theory books, for example, The Promise Keepers (1999), Article the first (2006), and The Book of the Is (2013); he also writes political fiction, such as the novella thereafter (2013). The Bryan William Brickner Blog is an ongoing resource for the political science of constitutions and the biological science of receptors.
