Hey there! My name is David, and my love story with Egypt began with the most unintentional path. I had a vacation in Sharm el-Sheikh and was coming back again and again until I decided that I want to make this great land my home. As being a tour guide, I now get to share this passion with people around the world.
Living between Cairo and Hurghada has taught me that Egypt is far more, of course, than the magnificent places that it is famous for. I never find it tiring to watch tourists "ooh" needing their first experience at the pyramids, but there is even more to it than this-the modern soul of Egypt. Whether that means haggling spices at your corner market or watching the sunset from your felucca on Nile, these moments usually end up being their most precious memories.
My excursions are a little different from the tourist routes so much. We certainly go to the must-see sights, but I love taking people off the beaten path. Nothing quite compares with finding a hidden gem in Cairo's winding alleys or scoring that perfect snorkeling spot near Hurghada that locals know about only. It makes every tour an exciting adventure tailored to the interests and pace of my group.
The really great thing about my job is not just showing people around, but that they connect with the vast culture and traditions of Egypt. When I see someone truly bonding with the heritage of this country, such as through eating authentic Egyptian dishes or making friends with local craftsmen, I know I did my job well. So far, even for me, every day has brought new discoveries, and that's what makes it such a great mix between work and passion.
