Herbal Intel Group Hosts ‘Rally For Care’
Event to raise awareness for CannaMom Advocacy Group
Brevard County 10/7/2014 6:37:26 PM
Herbal Intel Group (HIG) will host ‘Rally For Care,’ Saturday, November 1, 2014, at the Cocoa Village Riverfront Park from 2 through 7 pm. The Rally is ‘free’ and open to the public.
The ‘family friendly’ event will host live music, food vendors, arts, crafts and networking opportunities. Proceeds from the Rally will go to support CannaMoms,’ a Central Florida team of mothers who formed an advocacy group to fight for the option to utilize cannabis in treating critically ill pediatric children.
The CannaMoms,’ also caregivers of their own critically ill children, have fought diligently for cannabis legislative reform while also educating the public on the medicinal benefits of cannabis for certain pediatric patient populations.
“From hospitalization to medication side effects, we know first-hand, the difficulties of caring for a critically ill child,” said Renee Petro, CannaMom organizer. “We believe putting our faces and personal stories to the name of cannabis law reform will be the only way to make a difference in the lives of these sick children.”
Petro and her team have participated in documentaries in the US, Japan and Brazil, while also providing testimonies for Senate and House hearings, academic seminars and conferences.
HIG will host a private luncheon with the CannaMom group from 11 am to 2pm ($25 donation); Petro and her colleagues will be on hand to discuss their experiences and the importance of voting ‘yes’ on Amendment 2.
