Our certificated program is a non-degree program of study for prospective students, lay persons, or others interested in exposure to religious and theological studies. The Certificate of Orthodox Theological Studies is designed to offer a general introduction to Orthodox theology. As a part of this program students take introductory graduate-level courses on various Coptic Orthodox topics such as, scripture church history, dogmatism, patristics, and Cannon Law.
Students who earn a Certificate of Orthodox Theological Studies can advance to a Masters of Divinity or PhD in Theology. However, this program does not provide the educational or Pastoral requirements necessary for priestly ordination.
Earn a Certificate of Orthodox Theological Studies at the St. Athanasius and St. Cyril Coptic Orthodox Theological School and then advance to our Master of Divinity degree, or simply expand your knowledge of the Coptic Orthodox Christian Church.
