Dream Analyst David Rivinus Will Be Interviewed On European and International Radio

On Saturday May 30, dream analyst David Rivinus will be interviewed on a radio program that is to be aired simultaneously in the United States, Europe and Asia. The show can be heard at 1:00 pm Pacific time in the United States, and at 9:00 pm London time. The program is part of the Zeta Global Radio network and the link is http://bbsradio.com/zetaglobalradio.

The subject is dream interpretation.   Zeta Global is part of bbsradio.com and specializes in spiritual topics and news. Although a relatively new platform—only a few months old—Zeta Global already has received more than 9,000 likes to its Facebook page. Its programs are heard predominantly in the United Kingdom, but are also listened to in the US, across mainland Europe and in Asia.

The May 30th program, which has been pre-taped for broadcast, is a lively interview. The interviewer, whose broadcasting name is Lainie Sevante Quirk, good naturedly tries to put Rivinus on the spot, asking him to interpret two dreams on the air. The dreams are typically surreal. One is about a woman giving birth to a chicken. The other was called in by a prior listener and is about driving on a narrow mountain road with a danger of mudslides. 

Rivinus meets this challenge head on and the result is a thought-provoking interpretation of each dream. However, he is also careful to warn against being too flippant about the process. “There is a tendency to try and put dreams into the category of ‘one size fits all,’” he says. According to Rivinus, there are books that try to generalize dream symbols into broad meanings and categories. While that can be useful at times, he feels that it is much better to interview the dreamer, limiting his own analysis of a dream symbol to a minimum.  

With the dream about the chicken, he is able to do that during a conversation with the dreamer, and he helps bring her insight into her own ambivalence (being a chicken) about her own creative process (symbolized both by her giving birth, and by the hen producing new life through the laying of eggs).
