President John Tyler was the 10th President of the United
States of America. While most presidents
are remembered for their legislations and policies, Tyler’s lineage is what
makes him stand out from former presidents.
According to MentalFloss.com, two of President Tyler’s grandchildren
are still living.
Lyon Gardiner Tyler, Jr. and Harrison Ruffin Tyler were born in 1924
and 1928, respectively. They are the
sons of Lyon Gardiner Tyler who was one of Tyler’s 15 children.
FoxNews.com has obtained records showing that President Tyler was 62
when Lyon Gardiner Tyler was born. Lyon
was even older, in his 70s, when his sons were born. Their mother Sue Ruffin, was Lyon Sr.’s
second wife. She died in 1935.
Based on a profile in a Virginia Tech magazine in 2007, Harrison Tyler

Tenn., and honored as a “faithful member” of the organization. Lyon Jr. graduated from William Mary as well
