Presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will follow his visit in Germany with a brief stop in France where he is scheduled to meet French President Nicolas Sarkozy before heading to London.
Sarkozy considers Obama a friend and publicly declared he had held a long-standing belief that the Illinois senator would secure the Democratic presidential nomination. Speaking to the French newspaper Le Figaro Sarkozy stated, “Unlike my diplomatic advisers, I never believed in Hillary Clinton's chances.”
Obama is coming off a highly publicized stop in Berlin where he addressed a crowd of 200,000 about the responsibility of a shared global citizenship.
Obama is not scheduled to deliver a speech in Paris but will hold a joint news conference with Sarkozy before heading to London, his last stop before heading back to the United States on Saturday night.
